It's Autumn

What season is it?
It's autumn.

The weather is often rainy and windy in autumn

and you often need to open your umbrella!

If you're wearing boots

(not sandals,
shoes,
or trainers!)

you can jump into puddles!

In autumn you can eat apples
and grapes

and if you go walking in a wood
with your basket
you can pick berries:
blueberries

blackberries

raspberries

nuts,
chestnuts
and mushrooms

In autumn the leaves on the trees change colour.
They turn yellow, red, orange, brown and purple.

Do you like autumn? I love the colours of autumn!

Enjoy autumn!

The Big Enormous Turnip

Hello, everyone!

How are you? We started the school year with this old traditional story of a man who planted a small seed and got and ENORMOUS turnip!

Here's the story I told you:

And the next are two  other versions of the story:

Here you can see some of your friends acting out the story, wearing the beautiful masks Gabriele and Marta made for us (THANKS! GREAT JOB!):

MAN WOMAN
BOY GIRL
DOG CAT

MOUSE

PULL! PULL! PULL!

(I know: it looks like a school bag... but it's a turnip!)

(thanks to www.sparklebox.co.uk for these pictures!)

Now let's get down to work to make our own paper characters (thanks to storytimecrafts.org for the characters, but I had to add the boy) and draw the background:

Yum yum, now go and eat your turnip soup!

Bye,

Pete the Cat - I Love My Shoes

Hello, everyone!

How are you? I love Pete the Cat, don't you?

Pete has got a pair of white new shoes and he loves them so much he sings a song: listen to the story and join Pete singing:

We made our own cats at school, look:

Our coloured cats walked on piles of strawberries and blueberries...

Then, with some magic, I gave the children of class 1b and 1c a pair of white shoes each!

Unfortunately we also walked on strawberries, blueberries, a puddle of mud,  a bucket of water:

Here you can watch the children walking and singing their song:

Bye bye!
