It's Autumn

What season is it?

It's autumn.

The weather is often rainy and windy in autumn 

and you often need to open your umbrella!

If you're wearing boots 

(not sandals,

shoes,

or trainers!)

you can jump into puddles!

In autumn you can eat apples

and grapes

and if you go walking in a wood

with your basket

you can pick berries:

blueberries

blackberries

raspberries

nuts,

chestnuts

and mushrooms

In autumn the leaves on the trees change colour.

They turn yellow, red, orange, brown and purple.

Incy Wincy Spider

Hello, everyone!

       How are you?  I'm fine.
Look at this little black spider:

You can make your own spider with some cotton wool, some black crepe paper, sello tape and glue.
I made the legs with those sticks used to clean pipes with... I don't know how you can call them... Mine were grey, so I coloured them black with paint, cut them in half and stuck them under the spider with glue - REMEMBER: spiders have 8 legs!!! (Insects have 6).
I had two nice little plastic eyes, but you can make them with pieces of round white paper with a black spot in the middle.
And for the spout, I used two empty paper rolls, a long and a short one:

I cut them along the lenght, so as to make them larger. Then my sweet little daughter Marta, my little witch, made the spout with glue and paper bits:

Then I made a weather flashcard with rain on one side, sunshine on the other. Now you are ready to sing:

                                       Ok, you're right: I really sing like a witch!!!

The water cycle

Hi, everybody!
      I'm sure your teacher told you the story of a drop of water and its journey to the sky and back to the earth.

      If you click on the next picture, you can download it and print it. You can then stick the picture to a sheet of construction paper and cover it with a plastic film: you have now a nice mat you can bring at school and put on your desk!

Do you know the story of Incy Wincy Spider, who is climbing up the spout when PRECIPITATION (rain!) starts??? He falls down, but then the sun shines again and there is EVAPORATION, so he climbs up again!

 

      I'm working on a paper spout and spider at the moment... I'll let you know when I'm ready...
